Down, but not out.

Howdy faithful blog readers,

I wanted to give you an update from the Corbin Camp. I've been holding out hope that my NEXT update would be the SUPER update that I am back up and running and dreaming of palm tree's and the Hawaii Ironman in October.

The time has come to write the opposite of that news and that news is that for the first time in the past 10 years, I won't be starting this years Ironman Hawaii. Ugh. Not the most fun sentence to type out.

The last time I posted an update I let you know I was struggling with a bit of an injury. I found out in late May that I had a small stress fracture near the top of my femur. As you can imagine, dealing with injury while training, competing and doing something you absolutely love is tough to handle.

The doctors let me know it could take anywhere from 8-12 weeks to return to running. I was hopeful that I would be closer to the 8 week mark. My most recent MRI at the end of July revealed good progress in the healing department, but not to the extent that I would be able qualify for Kona in a healthy & reasonable matter.

Unfortunately, for the first time in 10 years, I won't be able to make the start line on the Big Island.

So that's the bad news. The good news is that I am more motivated than ever. I don't take "no" for an answer very well, so I am determined to keep pushing ahead as I look forward to getting back onto the next start line.

I have always appreciated the support from my family, friends, training partners, fans, sponsors, you name it. The encouragement I get on & off the course is what keeps me going in difficult times. I hope to be back on a start line soon and will continue to represent my sponsors and supporters as best that I can in all that I do.

Thank you so much for reading. So many people have reached out the past few months, I am really touched & encouraged by those that I am surrounded by. It means so much to me, and the next time I have the opportunity to race I will be carrying each of you & a big smile across that finish line with me.

All the best,

Linsey
