My new coach, Matt, runs a business called purplepatch fitness. I was recently in San Francisco and the Bay Area with Matt doing some training, testing, socializing, and having fun. Someone asked Matt why his logo doesn't have purple in it. Matt explained that purplepatch is not a color, but a feeling. Pretty cool.

In case you didn't know what a purplepatch is:
purplepatch [pur.puhl.pach] noun: a period of excellent performance, when everything seems to go right, work properly and is in perfect balance. Everything seems to fall into place and flows, making it seem like you can do nothing wrong.

I had a great time getting to know many new people in the Bay Area and checking out the local training scene. We did a few fun rides near and around Mt. Tam and I got to run across the Golden Gate Bridge on Sunday. It was fun to stay in the city with hostess with the mostess: Meredith & Aaron. Her life is complete opposite of what I live in Montana. But, I do love the city. I told her instead of the TV show "wife-swap" we should do a "life-swap." I knew it was time to return home to Missoula when I got a $63 parking ticket! Ouch! Parking tickets in Montana are only $2.

I am looking forward to discovering my own purplepatch, a few new exciting changes, training with some new faces, and great challenges in 2010. Hard to believe it is February already! Time to get rolling.
