Off on an adventure!
Memorial Day Weekend. It signifies many things:
When the outdoor 50m pool opens
Getting the garden and yard ready for summer
BBQ' s, maybe even a parade or two
Going up to the lake to start the summer season
Traveling to see family
Nope. Not for Linsey Corbin! Instead I am off on another epic adventure.
Me and some of Western Montana's finest endurance athletes will be heading to the sleepy mountain town (population about 900) of Wallace, Idaho for a serious weekend of training. The ground rules were that we were all planning on suffering, no whiners allowed, and we had to be prepared to do the unthinkable: ride 170 miles --- in one day.
So, my bags and new road bike are packed up and ready to depart Missoula, MT. for a weekend of fun filled memories. I think it actually may not be much fun at mile 140 tomorrow, but we will all look back and laugh at this come July. Right...?!?!
I am looking forward to catching up with and training with some of my great friends who helped me get my start in triathlon. We are a bunch that is always pushing the envelope (and each other) to see who can do something even more crazy than the next.
Sunday we are planning on more riding, some open water swimming and a long run. Then Monday to cap off the weekend will be another century ride of just over 100 miles. Don't worry- I packed the chami cream!
Enjoy a safe and happy three day weekend! Catch up with you all next week.
